The updated minivan fetches significantly higher prices after dropping the base trim level.

The fifth-generation Odyssey arrived in the United States for the 2018 model year, receiving a facelift three years later. Honda is giving the minivan another update for 2025, which brings styling changes, modern technology, and a simplified trim structure. As is often the case when a new or refurbished car comes out, there is also a price drop.

Not that Odyssey buyers really buy the car for its looks, but the changes brought by the 2025MY should make it more desirable. Well, at least that’s what Honda hopes. The van has a sportier grille with black surrounds and massive fog lamps. At the rear, a new bumper combines the straight glass grille borrowed from the defunct Acura NSX, amusingly.

Elsewhere, all trim levels now come with newly designed wheels, new. The family mover gets an updated color palette while Honda adds Solar Silver Metallic and Smoke Blue Pearl colors.

Stepping inside, the 2025 Odyssey gets a seven-inch digital instrument cluster as standard. The basic model also gets an improved touchscreen with a diagonal of nine inches, which rises by one inch. Not only is the infotainment slightly larger, but it’s now faster to operate thanks to a more powerful processor. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity are included, along with additional USB-C ports on the front and rear.

Upgrade to the Touring or Elite trim level and Honda adds a new rear-seat entertainment system with a 12.8-inch touchscreen. It replaces the old 10.2-inch and has an HDMI port built into the console, with storage space to hold your streaming device.

As for prices, there is bad news. The entry-level $39,635 EX is gone, so the list begins with the EX-L. It costs $43,315 after travel and handling fees. Formerly known as the Sport, the Sport-L will set you back $44,465. Visiting is now $48,005. Splurge for the Elite and you want to spend $52,275.

trims 2025 Price Difference in 2024
EX-L $43,315 + $610
Sport-L $44,465 + $355
To visit $48,005 +$1,110
Elite $52,275 + $510

That has not changed the engine. It remains the same naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque sent to the wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. At home in Japan, Honda sells the Odyssey from China with a hybrid powertrain based around a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine. Connected to a CVT, the power setup makes 212 hp and 232 lb-ft.

Honda will have the 2025 Odyssey in dealerships across the US starting tomorrow, July 23.
